Now $6 Yaogangxian Mine, Yaogangxian W-Sn ore field, Yizhang County, Chenzhou, Hunan, China Miniature - 3.9 x 2.9 x 1.2 cm 29 grams Specimen status: Available Send an email with specimen number to order One face of a lustrous, jet black
ferberite crystal with interesting growth patterns is
bare, while the opposite face is dusted with
microcrystalline muscovite and several distinct but dull
arsenopyrite crystals to 8 mm. We also see a 4 mm quartz
crystal, nearly perpendicular to the ferberite face, and
displaying distinct bluish fluorescence under shortwave UV
(probably due to a high tungsten content). One minor
incomplete spot along the edge of the ferberite where a
small 'sidecar' ferberite was broken, but otherwise the
specimen is in quite nice condition.
