19973: Siderite, Barite, and Galena - Was $10 Now $5 Julcani Mine, Julcani District, Angaraes Province, Huancavelica, Peru Miniature - 4.5 x 4.5 x 2.7 cm 63 grams Specimen status: Available Send an email with specimen number to order The core of this specimen is group of
white, translucent to opaque barite blades. One blade,
perpendicular to the main cluster, is mostly covered
with opaque, tan siderite crystals clusters, these
having interesting stepped growth. Additional siderite,
plus small but bright galena crystals are also present.
The matrix is mixed sulfides, mostly galena (by visual
identification). The main barite cluster is contacted or
cleaved across the top of the specimen, but I do not
find this to be a distraction.
