23939: Malachite replacing Azurite - Was $24 Now $12 Tsumeb Mine, Tsumeb, Oshikoto Region, Namibia Miniature - 5.1 x 3.9 x 2.6 cm 64 grams Specimen status: Available Send an email with specimen number to order This specimen is composed almost
exclusively of fine grained malachite which has replaced
(pseudomorphed) previous azurite. Prominent on the display
face is a 3.4 cm azurite replacement, doubly terminated,
but contacted or broken on both ends. A little azurite
remains on the specimen. A very good, starting example for
this famous replacement from what many consider to be the
world's premier mineral specimen source.
