Brown stilpnomelane microcrystalline crust, abundant on an orthoclase matrix. Stilpnomelane is an uncommon phyllosilicate - (K,Ca,Na)(Fe,Mg,Al)8(Si,Al)12(O,OH)36·nH2O, for which French Creek was a classic locality. The locality is now extinct, having been removed, bulldozed, and otherwise destroyed in 1988 to make way for (what else?) a housing complex, called 'French Creek Mine Estates'. Specimens not abundant on the mineral market.
