Calcite - Sold
Llugarin, Asturias, Spain
5.0 x 3.5 x 2.5 cm (2.0 x 1.4 x 1.0 inches)
A single calcite crystal draped with a second generation of calcite
crystallization. Probably a twin (second picture). The main crystal
body is completely gemmy and transparent. The burnt orange color is due
to a coating (probably iron oxide) on several crystal faces. The
symmetry of the coating supports the supposition that this is a twin.
Cleaved on the bottom where removed from matrix (affording a convenient
stand) but otherwise undamaged.

Beryl variety Aquamarine - Sold
Erongo Massif, Omaruru District, Erongo Region, Namibia
3.8 x 2.6 x 2.4 cm (1.5 x 1.0 x 1.0 inches)
The main feature of this specimen is a 2.2 cm, light green beryl. The
beryl has a gemmy, pristine termination. Several additional
partial beryl crystals for the matrix. A belt of dark brown hematite
containing a few lustrous schorl crystals provides a nice color accent.
The specimen displays very nicely.

Fluorite, Calcite, and Chalcopyrite - Sold
Cave in Rock, Illinois - Kentucky Fluorspar District, Hardin County,
Illinois
8.5 x 6.0 x 5.4 cm (3.3 x 2.4 x 2.1 inches)
The main fluorite crystal is about 5 cm along the edge, with a yellow
core, purple edges and three full faces. Two of the faces have indented
areas due to stepped growth, which host some small chalcopyrite and
calcite crystals. A cleaved fluorite crystal along the edge has a few
chalcopyrite inclusions. The specimen is a bit rough in a few places,
and the price reflects this.

Epidote - $180
Wadh, Balochistan, Pakistan
6.6 x 6.4 x 4.2 cm (2.6 x 2.5 x 1.7 inches)
An aesthetic, radiating cluster of fine, deep green epidote
blades on a fibrous actinolite (byssolite) matrix. The epidotes reach
2.5 cm in length. A few areas of mostly minor breakage, mostly around
the periphery, otherwise the specimen is in very good condition. A
previous Mountain Minerals International (Dudley Blauwet) label with a
price of $400 testifies to the quality of this specimen. Specimen
collected in 2003.

Aragonite - $15
Minglanilla, Cuenca, Castile-La Mancha, Spain
5.0 x 3.8 x 3.1 cm (2.0 x 1.5 x 1.2 inches)
Minglanilla is famous for its plethora of inexpensive "Sputnik"
aragonite clusters, but it also produces large aragonite singles. Here
we have a fat, brown, doubly terminated aragonite crystal. A fine
example, and free of damage.
