6594:
Mimetite and Calcite - $10   Reduced to $9
Santa Eulalia District, Mun. de Aquiles Serdán, Chihuahua, Mexico
4.6 x 3.7 x 1.5 cm (1.8 x 1.5 x 0.6 inches)
Specimen status: Available     Click here to order

Silky, light brown, hemispherical mimetite clusters on a matrix of colorless, opaque to transparent calcite rhombs. Individual mimetite balls reach 5 mm across, and are more brown than the pictures on my computer appear. One mimetite is ball is incomplete, otherwise no damage. The amount of mimetite and calcite are nicely balanced.

6603:
Mimetite and Calcite - $8   Reduced to $7
Santa Eulalia District, Mun. de Aquiles Serdán, Chihuahua, Mexico
3.9 x 3.4 x 2.6 cm (1.5 x 1.3 x 1.0 inches)
Specimen status: Available     Click here to order

A group of silky, light yellow-brown mimetite hemispheres, accented with colorless to brown, mostly transparent calcite rhombs, on matrix. The mimetite balls reach 6 mm, and the calcites top out at 4 mm. Minor matrix. A few missing mimetite groups, but this does not significantly detract.

6629:
Smithsonite and Quartz - $35   Reduced to $31
Tsumeb Mine, Tsumeb, Otjikoto Region, Namibia
5.9 x 4.6 x 3.0 cm (2.3 x 1.8 x 1.2 inches)
Specimen status: Available     Click here to order

A cluster of off-white, translucent to opaque smithsonite rhombohedra on matrix. The smithsonites are glassy and reach 1.7 cm across. Vugs around the smithsonites contain small, sharp quartz crystals, which are somewhat brown due to inclusions.  Very minor edgewear noted under 10x magnification, otherwise no damage.

6645:
Andradite (variety Demantoid) - $60   Reduced to $34
Campo Franscia, Lanterna Valley, Sondrio Province, Italy
6.3 x 5.1 x 5.0 cm (2.5 x 2.0 x 2.0 inches)
Specimen status: Available     Click here to order

Clusters of glassy, translucent, olive-green andradite crystals scattered across the face of a gray matrix. The clusters reach about 5 mm across. A few incomplete clusters, but these do not detract. Sits well for display without a stand.

6741:
Barite - $15   Reduced to $13
Julcani Mine, Julcani District, Huancavelica Department, Peru
3.7 x 3.1 x 1.9 cm (1.5 x 1.2 x 0.7 inches)
Specimen status: Reserved     Click here to order

A cluster of light blue to white barite blades, mostly translucent with some transparency along the edges. The largest individual crystal is 1.7 cm across. No damage.

6854:
Calcite included with Boulangerite - $12   Reduced to $10
Herja Mine, Baia Mare, Maramures County, Romania
5.2 x 3.8 x 3.6 cm (2.0 x 1.5 x 1.4 inches)
Specimen status: Available     Click here to order

A rounded calcite lump (hard to call it a crystal), colored gray due to inclusion of microscopic boulangerite. Additional boulangerite 'hairs' are easily visible along the base of the specimen. The snowy coating is a second, thin generation of calcite. Also present at the base is a poorly crystallized mixed sulfide layer (appears to be sphalerite and galena).

6921:
Adamite
Ojuela Mine, Mapimi, Durango, Mexico
6.3 x 4.5 x 3.4 cm (2.5 x 1.8 x 1.3 inches)
Specimen status: Sold

A cleft in limonite/goethite matrix hosts clusters of glassy, greenish-yellow adamite crystals. Strong greenish fluorescence under short-wave UV (second picture). A bit contacted and cleaved along one edge (left edge first picture) but otherwise no damage. A fine example for the price.

6931:
Adamite
Ojuela Mine, Mapimi, Durango, Mexico
9.9 x 8.1 x 5.3 cm (3.9 x 3.2 x 2.1 inches)
Specimen status: Sold

A gossan matrix with a rich coverage of glassy, yellow-green adamite crystals to 5 mm. The adamites are larger on the front face (shown) and smaller but just about as abundant on the rear face (not shown). Strong fluorescence. Displays as shown without a stand. No damage.

6934:
Adamite - $30   Reduced to $16
Ojuela Mine, Mapimi, Durango, Mexico
15.0 x 8.8 x 6.2 cm (5.9 x 3.5 x 2.4 inches)
Specimen status: Available     Click here to order

A large, vuggy gossan matrix with a rich coverage of translucent to opaque adamite crystals. Individual adamites reach 5 mm across. Minor calcite. Displays as shown without a stand. Good fluorescence and no damage.

6956:
Sphalerite and Quartz - $25   Reduced to $19
Hunan Province, China
6.6 x 5.5 x 3.3 cm (2.6 x 2.2 x 1.3 inches)
Specimen status: Available     Click here to order

A complex group of lustrous, black to orange to deep red sphalerite crystals. They are opaque to transparent, and in some areas quite gemmy when backlit (last picture). Except for some minor quartz crystals, the specimen is all sphalerite. Sits for display as shown in the first picture without a stand. Scattered cleaves, mostly small and mostly on the base, do not detract; otherwise no damage.

6960:
Cassiterite and Muscovite - $25   Reduced to $22
Mt Xuebaoding, Pingwu County, Sichuan Province, China
3.6 x 3.6 x 2.2 cm (1.4 x 1.4 x 0.9 inches)
Specimen status: Available     Click here to order

A silvery muscovite matrix hosts two lustrous cassiterite crystals. The main (top) crystal is complex and nearly complete, same for a small contact along one edge, and a little edgewear. The bottom crystal is larger, but incomplete, as the specimen's base has been sawn (although this does make a fine display base). As is common in these pieces, the muscovite is matted down a bit in a few places. Trimming could yield a nice cassiterite thumbnail.

7009:
Fluorite - $18   Reduced to $14
Chenzhou Prefecture, Hunan Province, China
7.4 x 6.5 x 4.0 cm (2.9 x 2.6 x 1.6 inches)
Specimen status: Available     Click here to order

A large chunk of light pastel green fluorite. The specimen is notable not for its crystal structure (only one or two crystal faces are complete or even obvious) but for its icy, glassy transparency.
