A bed of deep brown, opaque but lustrous sphalerite crystals hosts a cluster of deep purple fluorite cubes, which reach 1.5 cm along the edge. The fluorites appear dark and opaque in the photos, but show a beautiful purple color when backlit (last photo). As is typical for fluorite, color can vary with the light source: this specimen was photographed under white LED light but it may appear lighter purple or bluish under different lighting. Minor, tiny and brassy chalcopyrite crystals scattered about on the fluorite faces. Some fluorite cleavage along the back of the specimen, but no damage to what I would consider to be the display face. Sits beautifully for display on its naturally flat sphalerite base.
