We've all seen plenty of amethyst from Brazil, but this specimen stands out because of the unusual calcite scepter formation. The calcite formation features a rhombohedral cluster perched on the amethyst. A shaft juts out from this cluster, and ends with another calcite rhomb. All of the calcite is translucent to transparent, and in numerous spots, decorated with a second generation of small, colorless, translucent to transparent quartz crystals. The amethyst color is not the deepest of purples, but many of these crystals feature distinct purple phantoms. A few scratches and one small cleave noted on the calcite, but no glaring damage is present. Many display angles possible for this unusual and aesthetic piece.
