30766: Lithiophilite
Stewart Mine, Pala District, San Diego County, California
Miniature - 5.0 x 4.3 x 4.0 cm (2.0 x 1.7 x 1.6 inches)
Weight - 69 grams (0.15 pounds)
Specimen status: Sold

Lithiophilite is generally a nonphotogenic mineral species, and only rarely found as distinct crystals. In this example the crystals are quite distinct, although still nonphotogenic. Collected in or before 1960. No damage, but this specimen is delicate (OK for shipping) and tends to shed a bit (so handling should be minimized). A fine example of this rare ugly. Ex Bricker's Minerals. Sits well for display (if you're into displaying uglies).
