The Daoping Mine has produced a flood of pyromorphite specimens (more so in the past; less so these days). Many of these were just typical: thumbnails, or if large, mostly crystals scattered on matrix. This example, on the other hand, is superbly notable in that is 100% pyromorphite (no matrix), of pleasing olive green color, completely free of damage, and of a nifty 'wreath' or 'doughnut' shape! (We call this specimen the Christmas Wreath.) Many of the crystals have barrel shapes. This is, hands down, the coolest pyromorphite I have ever seen.

This specimen was part of Roy's 2003 Tucson display case, for which he was won a First Place ribbon and a Best Master trophy. This pyromorphite was judged to be among the four best specimens in the case.
