The Pingwu Beryl Mine is famous for world-class aquamarine, cassiterite, and scheelite specimens. This aquamarine example features a cluster of pleasantly pastel blue, tabular aquamarine crystals accented with clusters of silvery muscovite. The larger beryl faces are somewhat rough (growth features or natural corrosion?) whereas the edge faces are glassy and smooth. These crystals range from translucent at the core to water clear at the edges. This sculptural and aesthetic beryl, complete all around, displays quite nicely on its acrylic stand (which could easily be removed if desired). No damage to this outstanding example.
