RF196: Barite with Stibnite Inclusions
Xikuangshan Sb deposit, Lengshuijiang County, Loudi, Hunan, China
Small cabinet - 7.2 x 6.8 x 3.9 cm (2.8 x 2.7 x 1.5 inches)
Weight - 232 grams with stand (0.51 pounds)
ex Roy Foerster collection
Specimen status: Sold

A cluster of sharp and glassy, light golden yellow, translucent to transparent barite crystals is included by stibnite needles, which reach 3.8 cm in length. Nearly 100% complete (except the base); almost a floater. Displays quite nicely ant any angle on its acrylic stand (which could be removed, but at the expense of display aesthetics). No damage. A fine Xikuangshan barite specimen, made even more desirable by the stibnite inclusion.
