A gypsum crystal (variety selenite), twinned along the c-axis, having excellent clarity. Doubly terminated and in very nice condition, especially considering its softness (Mohs hardness = 2) and its age. Shows unusual banded fluorescence (perpendicular to the c-axis) under both longwave UV (blacklight) and shortwave UV. Accompanied by a somewhat tattered George English label with a No. 64 East 12th Street address (~1890). From a classic gypsum locality.
