Two sharply crystallized and (on some faces) quite lustrous tunellite crystals. The larger of the pair measures 4.0 cm. Tunellite is a strontium borate - SrB6O9(OH)2ยท3H2O, for which the Rio Tinto Borax Mine is the type locality. A rare mineral; Mindat gives just nine confirmed global localities. A fine example for the price, and in excellent condition. Ex Jim and Dawn Minette collection.
