A group of eight, modest to sharp aragonite replacements after glauberite, from the famous Camp Verde locality. Most examples of this classic pseudomorph are smooth (microcrystalline) replacements by calcite or gypsum (or a mixture of the two). These, however, have easily discerned macroscopic crystals which strongly resemble aragonite; hence they are (probably) aragonite (with some percentage of calcite and/or gypsum) after glauberite. Some of these show a patchy, creamy-white fluorescence under both longwave and shortwave UV. Some specimens have a few bald spots, but overall condition isn't too bad. From the estate of the late Russell Filer (Filer's Minerals), who retired from the mineral business around 2005.
