A druzy, microcrystalline quartz carpet hosts and covers several galena crystals which reach about 8 mm in size. Neither galena or quartz are rare at the Blanchard Mine, but I like the way the quartz covers the galena. In a few small spots the quartz covering has peeled off, revealing that the underlying galena may be partly pseudomorphed (becoming anglesite?). Unusual and interesting for the locale. Displays as shown without needing support. No damage.
