Mt Xuebaoding is a classic Chinese aquamarine and beryl locality. From that locality we have a large and very rich plate of tabular, glassy, and mostly translucent beryls, the largest of which measures 6.3 cm across. The color is a gorgeous aquamarine blue-green that was not adequately captured in the photos. The matrix is muscovite which (unlike many other Xuebaoding specimens) not matted down. This specimen was part of Roy's 2003 Tucson display case, for which he won a First Place ribbon and Best of Masters trophy. I have never seen a larger, richer Xuebaoding aquamarine than this choice example. Displays quite nicely and (except for the usual edge and base issues where separated from host rock) free of damage. Overall better than the photos suggest.
