Specimen status: Sold

Saamite is an fluorapatite variety rich in strontium and rare earth elements. In this sample individual crystals reach 1.7 cm, and most are terminated. Accompanied by some stout, terminated natrolite crystals, and a tabular, unidentified black mineral, probably arfvedsonite. The locality is noted for a number of rather rare mineral species. Two previous dealer labels bearing prices up to $40.
