A deep green, opaque and somewhat bent tourmaline crystal is nearly completely encrusted with sparkly and brownish zanazziite. The tourmaline is broken on one end, whereas the other appears to have broken in situ before being enveloped. Zanazziite is a rare hydrated basic calcium magnesium beryllium phosphate, Ca2Mg5Be4(PO4)6(OH)6 · 6H2O, with Mindat localities in Austria, Brazil, and Maine only.
