Imiter Mine, Imiter District, Tinghir Province, DrĂ¢a-Tafilalet Region, Morocco
Small cabinet - 7.4 x 3.6 x 3.5 cm (2.9 x 1.4 x 1.4 inches)
112 grams (0.25 pounds)
Specimen status: Sold

This specimen features patches of deep ruby red proustite crystals scattered about on matrix. The largest patch is about 1.6 cm wide in which individual crystals reach about 3 mm. Proustite tends to darken with time (reaction ti light) but many of these crystals are still good when backlit. Many crystals in the main patch are nicely terminated but a few are contracted or broken. An affordable proustite example, interesting to explore with hand lends or camera lens.
