Specimen status: Sold

The Moscona Mine has long been famous as a classic locality for beautiful golden yellow fluorite specimens, but it also produces fine examples of other mineral species as well. In this case we have a specimen featuring two generations of barite. The first generation resulted in opaque, blocky crystals, which (in a second generation of barite deposition) became completely covered with colorless, translucent barite. This second generation is tabular, some with frosted corners, and with individual crystals reaching 7 mm in size. Sits beautifully for display on a naturally flat base. A few very minor incomplete crystals but the display face is in excellent condition.
