Dark but lustrous tennantite-tetrahedrite crystals reaching 2 cm on an edge rise from a mass of the same mineral, which in turn was deposited on a bed of quartz needles and crystalline to massive pyrite. Tennantite - (Cu,Ag,Zn,Fe)12As4S13 and tetrahedrite, its antimony analog - (Cu,Fe,Ag,Zn)12Sb4S13 are visually indistinguishable. These species form a solution series, so are quite likely to be present on the same specimen and even intergrown. This is a rich example for the species and in very good condition.
