Dragon Minerals - May 10, 2021 Update - Page 2

This update includes affordable thumbnail specimens, priced from $5 to $50. Each comes mounted in a standard Perky box (hinged plastic thumbnail box), which is a 2.5 cm (one inch) cube.

For scale, the round acrylic base shown in the photos measures 25 x 5 mm (1.0 x 0.2 inches).

A lustrous, deep root beer brown and doubly terminated rutile crystal. When backlit it shows as somewhat translucent. One termination is complex but complete, while the other is simpler but incomplete.

A slightly divergent spray of terminated quartz crystals, milky and translucent at the base and becoming nearly clear at the terminations, decorated with a few dull to bright, complete to incomplete, chalcopyrite crystals.

Dark, lustrous, and complexly crystallized sphalerite crystals are accompanied brown, translucent calcite discoids (flattened rhombs) and intergrown with pyrite. Probably from Joplin Field in Jasper County.
