Molybdenite
Wolfram Camp, Dimbulah, Mareeba Shire, Queensland, Australia
Miniature - 3.1 x 3.0 x 1.3 cm (1.2 x 1.2 x 0.5 inches)
20 grams (0.04 pounds)
Specimen status: Sold

From the famous Australian molybdenite locality we have a very bright specimen which is nearly 100% foliated molybdenite (plus small bits of included matrix). Despite the softness of this mineral, the specimen still retains a roughly hexagonal shape. Yes, you can mark paper with this specimen. A very affordable example of the species and locality. Worn, but no real damage is present.
