Clefts in a massive cuprite/copper matrix host several patches of euhedral cuprite crystals, with cubes or elongated cubes having beveled edges being dominant forms. The cuprite color is dark (almost black) in reflected light, but a beautiful deep cherry red in transmitted light. The largest single cuprite crystal is a cube of nearly 3 mm in size. Crystalline copper is also present throughout the sample. Excellent possibilities for photography, or exploration with a hand lens or microscope lens. Overall condition is quite nice.
