Several clusters of mirror bright arsenopyrite crystals are scattered about a light gray muscovite matrix. These arsenopyrites reach 1.3 cm in size and all are completed. The largest has serrated edges due to repeated twinning (last photo). Interestingly, a few small patches of lustrous, jet black sphalerite are present. Sphalerite is fairly rare at this locality; of the 1612 Yaogangxian Mine specimen photos at Mindat only eight include sphalerite. A cleft on the back of the specimen features a 2.8 cm quartz crystal whose termination is partially incomplete. Many display angles not needing additional support are possible.
