Sprays of dark köttigite/parasymplesite in vugs on a limonite matrix, associated with transparent, prismatic gypsum crystals to 1.9 cm. Köttigite is a simple zinc arsenate - Zn3(AsO4)2·8H2O which cannot be distinguished visually from its iron analog symplesite - Fe2+3(AsO4)2·8H2O (or its dimorph parasymplesite); one or more of these species may be present and/or intergrown. The best pocket could be trimmed to produce a great thumbnail, with the loss of some much less spectacular crystals.
