Sprays of dark köttigite/parasymplesite in vugs on a limonite matrix, associated with transparent, prismatic gypsum crystals to 1.9 cm. Köttigite is a simple zinc arsenate - Zn₃(AsO₄)₂·8H₂O which cannot be distinguished visually from its iron analog symplesite - Fe²⁺₃(AsO₄)₂·8H₂O (or its dimorph parasymplesite); one or more of these species may be present and/or intergrown. The best pocket could be trimmed to produce a great thumbnail, with the loss of some much less spectacular crystals.
