14238:
Fluorite, Galena, and Gypsum - $10
Bingham, Hansonburg District, Socorro County, New Mexico
Miniature - 3.5 x 2.7 x 2.3 cm (1.4 x 1.1 x 0.9 inches)
23 grams (0.05 pounds)

The fluorite has a stepped cubic growth, an icy, light aquamarine color, and is highly transparent. The front of the galena is complete and coated with a partial brown gypsum crystalline crust. The back of the galena and fluorite are both incomplete. Lies horizontally but needs a stand for what I would consider to be optimal display. A somewhat dramatic and nicely affordable New Mexico combination specimen. The gypsum could be removed if desired (ask me how), but I like the blue/brown color contrast.
