Gemmy, colorless, and mostly transparent gypsum sword crystals sprout from matrix, reaching a maximum length of 3.3 cm. Some have white, opaque inclusions, probably anhydrite which precipitated during gypsum crystal growth. (These are not white tipped gypsum crystals, made by heating gypsum crystals with a propane torch. The inclusions are internal and mid-crystal, and not at the terminations.) Some of the crystals show distinct twinning. Damage is very minimal, which is surprising given the softness and flexibility of gypsum. Displays quite nicely without needing additional support.
