Arsenopyrite
Yaogangxian Mine, Yizhang County, Chenzhou, Hunan, China
Miniature - 3.6 x 3.0 x 3.0 cm (1.4 x 1.2 x 1.2 inches)
55 grams (0.12 pounds)
Specimen status: Sold

This is a cluster of mirror bright, silvery arsenopyrite crystals, with individual crystals reaching about 1.5 cm. As is common for the species, twinning is prevalent. White patches of (probably) microcrystalline quartz add a nice, snowy contrast. Some crystals are incomplete, but otherwise this is a sharp, bright Yaogangxian Mine arsenopyrite for the price.
