Brucite (two specimens)
Wood's Chrome Mine, Texas, Little Britain Township, State Line Chromite Mining District, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania
Small cabinet - 6.1 cm (2.4 inches) - largest specimen
18 grams (0.04 pounds) - total weight
ex A. Lincoln Sherk collection
Specimen status: Sold

A pair of rather nonphotogenic, thin and micaceous brucite specimens from the famous Pennsylvania chromium mine locality. Ex A. Lincoln Sherk collection; accompanying label -- presumably in Sherk's own hand -- gives a collection date of May 29-31, 1926. Not as pretty as the recent yellow brucites from Pakistan, but in my mind, much more interesting.
