23421: Calcite, Quartz, and Chalcopyrite -
$24 Zacatecas, Mexico Small cabinet - 8.7 x 5.7 x 3.4 cm 154 grams Specimen status: Available Send an email with specimen number to order Opaque and off white, compound calcite
crystals sprout from a bet of small quartz crystals on a
mound of matrix. These calcites reach 3 cm, are
terminated, and exhibit brilliant red fluorescence under
shortwave UV. The quartz points reach about 5 mm at most,
and are translucent to transparent. A few tetrahedral
chalcopyrite crystals, slightly iridescent and reaching
about 5 mm, are also seen. Probably from the San MartÃn Mine.
Sits perfectly for display without needing a stand. Minor,
scatter chipping but overall condition is quite nice.
