Quartz with Montmorillonite inclusions -
$8 White Queen Mine, Pala District, San Diego County, California Miniature - 3.9 x 2.6 x 2.2 cm (1.5 x 1.0 x 0.8 inches) 23 grams (0.05 pounds) Specimen status: Available Send an email with specimen number to order A doubly-terminated quartz crystal,
having numerous points on each termination. The specimen
is rendered translucent and slightly pink by inclusions
of montmorillonite clay. This inclusion/association is
uncommon elsewhere, but classic material for this
classic locality. No point of attachment to matrix is
seen; this is a floater. No damage.
