| 44365: Microcline variety Amazonite - $24 Ray Ziegler pegmatite pocket, Crystal Peak, Teller County, Colorado Small cabinet - 7.3 x 6.8 x 3.6 cm 201 grams Illustrated: Mineral Specimen Cleaning and Development for the Amateur, page 293 Specimen status: Available Send an email with specimen number to order A terminated, light blue green
microcline crystal with enough color to rightly be called
amazonite. Still colored with some iron hydroxide/oxide
impurities (rust) which resisted removal (even with hot
oxalic acid solution) because they lie below the
specimen's surface. Broken on the back where removed from
matrix but otherwise is nice condition. Carries a previous
dealer label with a $60 price. Illustrated on page 293 of
my new book Mineral Specimen Cleaning and Development for
the Amateur.
