A 2.5 cm greenish tourmaline crystal having an angled termination (or contact) and numerous, acicular tourmaline crystals scattered about. Minor microcline matrix. Its internal structure is a great example of typical tourmaline zoned growth: A dark green to black core surrounded by a pale green out skin. Illustrated on page 291 of my new book Mineral Specimen Cleaning and Development for the Amateur. The locality was once prolific but is now mostly dormant (if not exhausted).
