Calcite - $10 Glove Mine, Cottonwood Canyon, Tyndall District, Santa Cruz County, Arizona Miniature - 3.8 x 3.4 x 2.8 cm (1.5 x 1.3 x 1.1 inches) 27 grams (0.06 pounds) Specimen status: Available Send an email with specimen number to order From a locality better known for
wulfenite comes this mound of translucent, sparkling
calcite. Composed of lustrous, roughly scalenohedral
crystals which reach 9 mm in size, it displays a
greenish-white fluorescence under both longwave and
shortwave UV. Sits nicely on its naturally flat base. A
few, scattered, minor bumps are present but otherwise
overall condition is quite nice.
