30355: Tetrahedrite - $40 Casapalca Mine, Casapalca, Chicla District, Huarochirí Province, Lima, Peru Small cabinet - 8.2 x 7.5 x 7.4 cm 646 grams Specimen status: Available Send an email with specimen number to order The display face is covered with dull,
slightly iridescent tetrahedrite crystals, with the
longest distinct crystal edge measuring 2.6 cm. Where
broken along the edge of the display face, some of the
tetrahedrite crystals reveal hollow interiors. The matrix
is a mixture of sulfides, with sphalerite and pyrite being
distinctly present. Overall condition is very good. Would
probably benefit from having excess matrix removed, but
this might require sawing.
