20117: Gypsum - $24 Bou Beker, Touissit-Bou Beker Mining District, Jerada Province, Oriental Region, Morocco Small cabinet - 8.4 x 2.3 x 1.7 cm 36 grams Specimen status: Available Send an email with specimen number to order A mostly transparent, prismatic gypsum
crystal, rendered brown along two faces due to iron
hydroxide/oxide inclusions. Minor rubs as expected for
such a soft mineral (Mohs hardness = 2) but overall
condition is quite nice. Most gypsum specimens from this
locality are sugary 'rams horn' (curved) examples but this
specimen is unusual in that it is a single, terminated
prism.
