This specimen requires magnification for full appreciation - hand lens, microscope, or camera lens. Abundant, black plattnerite crystals and sparkling, colorless hemimorphite crystals on a carpet of deep blue green rosasite. Plattnerite, a simple lead oxide - PbO₂ is not commonly see on Ojuela Mine mine specimens; of the 3936 Ojuela Mine specimen photos posted at Mindat, only 48 show plattnerite as a major species.
