A gorgeous specimen consisting of mostly transparent hemimorphite blades -- many with square terminations -- rising to about 1 cm above the matrix. Many of the hemimorphites stand upright (instead lying down on the matrix). Many are brownish near the base (probably iron oxide inclusions) but clear, colorless, and gemmy at the terminations. Scattered amongst the forest of hemimorphites are many tiny, white and opaque calcites, which reach maybe 2 mm. All of this sits on a black carpet (goethite)? whose growth layers are visible along the edges of the specimen. On the very bottom is a typical limonite gossan matrix. Except for the usual incomplete crystals around the edges (and this specimen has only a few of these), no damage. Displays nicely!
