A large, lustrous, black tourmaline 'club' with interesting surface growth patterns. Probably schorl, but tourmaline species generally cannot be assigned by visual inspection alone. One termination is a forest of contacts (many incomplete) and the other is complete but partially buried in residual feldspar/quartz matrix. The while, translucent crust is opal-AN (hyalite), which exhibits bright green fluorescence under both longwave and shortwave UV. If you like black minerals this is for you.
