Lustrous and black, blocky hübnerite crystals are scattered among a 'porcupine' matrix of colorless, transparent quartz needles. The hübnerites reach 2.6 cm in length (last photo), while the quartzes top out at 3.8 cm. Most of the hübnerite terminations appear rough and pitted but this is natural growth and not damage. Small, scattered siderite crystals are also noted. Some of the quartz points are coated with a microcrystalline crust of an unidentified mineral which glows bright blue under shortwave UV. A classic Peruvian specimen which displays well flat or vertically on a stand. No significant damage is seen.
