From the surface of a nearly flat basalt matrix rise numerous tabular pseudomorphs of quartz after anhydrite. The largest of these pseudomorphs measures 4.4 cm (last photo). A carpet of fluffy snow-white mordenite sits at the base. Minor calcite is also noted (fifth photo). A few of the pseudomorphs are incomplete but this is not a detraction on this specimen. Displays well as shown in the first two photos on its natural base.
