Three corundum specimens, two on a
gneiss matrix and one crystal free of matrix. The two on
matrix show different corundum morphologies: one prismatic
and the other more of a stack of tabular crystals.The
crystals are an opaque grey blue so maybe you might call
them sapphire. The two smallest would fit into standard
'Perkie' thumbnail boxes. Very typical for the
species/locality.
