A somewhat glassy, blocky microcline crystal having some of the 'bonespar' (bone marrow like) texture common to this locality, associated with a patch of small, pink tourmaline crystals. This specimen was mined before 1960 by Fred Rynerson (and obtained from his estate), author of Exploring and Mining Gems and Gold in the West. This book is a must-read for anyone interested in Southern California minerals, especially the San Diego County gem pegmatites.
