A dark green, tabular and lustrous epidote crystal with a truncated diamond shape. Magnetic. Based on their pseudo-octahedral morphology and (in some cases) magnetic properties, these were originally though to be epidote replacements of magnetite (pseudomorphs). However subsequent work has disproved this, and shown the magnetism is in fact due to microscopic magnetite inclusions. When this material first hit the market about a decade ago they were available in abundance. Now much harder to find. Overall condition is very good.
