This specimen began as a spodumene crystal which become covered in silky cookeite. The spodumene then dissolved leaving the cast (epimorph) we have here. It is unclear if the tourmaline - which is translucent and some crystals are terminated - was deposited before or after the spodumene was dissolved. Either way, an interesting and uncommon specimen. Excellent condition.
