| 13693: Vanadinite and Gypsum - $30 Mibladen Mining District, Midelt Province, DrĂ¢a-Tafilalet Region, Morocco Small cabinet - 7.7 x 5.0 x 3.1 cm 125 grams Fluorescent (LW/SW) Specimen status: Reserved Send an email with specimen number to order Opaque but sparkly, red-brown, tabular
vanadinite crystals to about 6 mm on a white barite (?)
and black manganese hydroxides/oxides matrix, associated
with abundant, massive to crystalline gypsum. The gypsum
displays a whitish fluorescence; weakly under shortwave UV
but strong under longwave UV (blacklight). An unusual
association; of the 1675 vanadinite specimen photos for this
locality host at Mindat only four include gypsum. A few
incomplete vanadinite crystals are noted but overall
condition is very good.
