| 25040: Topaz and Tourmaline - $50 Pakistan Miniature - 2.7 x 2.5 x 2.5 cm 41 grams Specimen status: Available Send an email with specimen number to order A nicely translucent, champagne brown
and lightly etched topaz crystal hosts a 1.3 cm,
unterminated tourmaline crystal. The etched texture lends
interest. The topaz is complete all around, suggesting it
is a cleavage piece with a healed (recrystallized) or
etched cleavage face. The topaz color is somewhat uneven,
suggesting it to be natural (not heated or irradiated). An
interesting association specimen that displays nicely.
Superb condition. A previous dealer label gives the
locality as Marki Khel, Afghanistan but this is
very doubtful, as the minerals listed at Mindat
(andradite, clinochlore, epidote, etc.) suggest an Alpine
cleft environment and not one conducive to topaz and
tourmaline. The actual location is probably Pakistan.
