A Gilbert Atomic Energy Spinthariscope. I believe it also doubled as a weak alpha particle source for other experiments. These were included in the higher end Gilbert-brand science kits in the 1950's and 1960's. Weakly radioactive (maybe double background). Has a lens about halfway down one end and a wire gauze on the other end. The tube is light cardboard. Excellent condition.
